Moving Day!
After months of dealing with the lack of space at our first apartment in Kihei, we decided to move to what turned out to be just a slightly larger place. The ocean view we enjoyed from our first apartment is no more, traded for a small backyard where at least we can put our grill and perhaps store the kayaks that we have been wishing to buy for a long time. The new apartment is on ground level and I like it better that way, specially since I dont have to haul my bike up and down the stairs every time I want to go for a ride. We also like having cross ventilation on this apartment which should make the island heat bearable and hopefully reduce our electric bill.
Our New Place
Also gone is the convenience of being within walking distance to the three gorgeous Kamaole beaches, but now we have our own washer/dryer, two full bathrooms, more closet space, more cabinet space and a dishwasher. Also, this new location cuts about 8 miles from my daily commute. Plus in this place we are allowed to have a cat, so Trixie may finally make the trip from Ohio to Hawaii, which should happen in June, God willing. We are excited about this new place and we are looking forward to entertain our guests and friends. Come visit soon, Aloha!

Trip To Oahu, April 15-17, 2005.
Gwen and I traveled to Oahu so I could take my SE II test in Honolulu. During our trip, we went to the Friday night gathering of Gwen's old church fellowship group. Then on Saturday, while I took my SE II test, Gwen met with her friends from UH and had a blast shopping and getting pampered at the hair salon. After my test, we all got together for beer and pizza at Magoo's in Honolulu. It was great to see everybody again, specially for Gwen, who misses her old friends and the city life of Honolulu.

On Sunday, we got up early and drove up to Kailua Beach, where we rented a kayak and paddled our way to the Mokolua Islands (See Picture Above) where we spent a few hours enjoying the sun, the surf and the beauty of this marine bird sanctuary. We later paddled our way back to Kailua, returned our kayak and worked our way to the airport for the trip back to Maui.
